Jo Kitney is an experienced workplace health, safety, and wellbeing leader with a strong background in organisational risk management, governance, and the development of practical safety systems across complex workplaces. Her work focuses on integrating health, safety, and people management functions to support sustainable performance and effective risk control.
Jo has held senior roles across government and large organisations, where she has led the implementation of WHS and wellbeing strategies, strengthened compliance frameworks, and supported leaders to manage both physical and psychosocial risks in real operational settings. She is known for her balanced approach, combining regulatory understanding with practical insight into how work is actually performed.

Her areas of interest include psychosocial risk management, organisational culture, leadership capability, and the challenges organisations face when translating policy requirements into everyday supervision and decision-making.
At the WHS Show, Jo brings a governance and organisational perspective to psychosocial risk, with a focus on how leadership, systems, and workplace culture influence whether controls are effective in practice.
