Director / Beaspoke Safety
Bea Tomlin

Bea Tomlin is the founder of Beaspoke Safety, a Melbourne-based consultancy known for cutting through the noise and bringing practical, human-centred risk and safety thinking to events, venues, councils, and creative industries across Australia. With more than 25 years’ experience in high-pressure operational environments, from the UK exhibition and festival circuit to major Australian outdoor events. Bea is recognised for her straight-talking approach and her ability to make safety both accessible and non-negotiable.

Across her career, she has led, redesigned, and rescued complex live environments: from large-scale community festivals and high-risk move-in periods to emergency response planning, vehicle mitigation, crowd dynamics, and psychological health challenges. She’s a ‘Devil’s Advocate’ by instinct, pushing clients to think beyond compliance and into capability, culture, and real-world decision-making.
Bea is also a passionate advocate for women in safety and leadership. Having spent decades navigating male-dominated operational settings, often as the only woman on the ground, she brings a candid perspective on boundaries, authority, burnout, and the emotional labour women quietly carry in high-stakes roles. Her focus is on equipping teams and leaders with practical tools, rehearsed confidence, and the courage to say “no” before something goes wrong.
