Director, Workplace Relations, Safety and Wellbeing / Central West Hospital and Health Service
Joshua Adams

Joshua Adams is an experienced safety and workforce leader with more than fifteen years’ experience across the Australian public sector, including roles in health, defence, and emergency services. As Director, Workplace Relations, Safety and Wellbeing at Central West Hospital and Health Service, Joshua leads the design and delivery of practical safety systems that protect workers operating across some of Queensland’s most remote healthcare environments.

His portfolio includes workplace health and safety, wellbeing and fatigue management, security and violence prevention, and organisational resilience. Joshua is particularly passionate about improving safety outcomes through engagement — empowering leaders and frontline teams to identify hazards early, build trust in reporting, and take shared ownership of risk controls.

He has led major initiatives introducing personal duress and vehicle monitoring systems, psychosocial risk management frameworks, and fatigue-safe journey management practices for isolated workers.

Joshua is a Certified Practitioner (CPHR) with the Australian HR Institute and holds qualifications in law, human resources, and safety management. He brings a pragmatic, systems-thinking approach to safety — grounded in evidence, collaboration, and continuous learning — and is driven by a simple goal: that every worker returns home safe, healthy, and well every day
