Fiona Murfitt is the Vice President of Sustainability at Evolution Mining, overseeing Health, Safety, Risk, Social Performance, and First Nations portfolios, and reporting directly to the CEO. With extensive executive and operational experience, she brings strong technical expertise and a passion for driving positive change to improve business outcomes, particularly in high-risk environments within the resources and energy sectors.

A dedicated change agent and risk engineer, Fiona is deeply committed to sustainability and the wellbeing of people. She is recognized for her ability to build trusted relationships and effectively align strategic goals with operational delivery. Her personal motivation stems from a tragic workplace fatality in her family, fuelling her determination to ensure others return home from work safely. This experience has shaped her broad skill set across risk management, safety, governance, sustainability, and leadership. 

Fiona’s academic background reflects her commitment to continuous learning. She holds a Master’s in Risk and Technology, has completed postgraduate studies in Transformation and Leadership, and earned undergraduate degrees in Business, Economics, and Law. Additionally, she is a qualified Executive Coach and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD). Fiona also contributes to industry leadership as a board member of the Gold Industry Group.
