Psychosocial Risk in Victoria: New Rules, Real Consequences, and What to Do Now
Wednesday 20 May
11:00 am - 11:30 am
Spotlight Stage

Victoria’s new Psychological Health Regulations and Compliance Code took effect on 1 December 2025 and WorkSafe isn’t waiting around. In this session, we’ll cut through the noise and get to what Victorian employers actually need to do differently. We’ll unpack the key regulatory shifts, including the de facto hierarchy of controls that means training and EAP alone won’t cut it anymore, and what “reasonably practicable” really looks like for psychosocial risk. We’ll examine what recent prosecutions reveal about where organisations are getting it wrong, and the patterns every safety leader should recognise.

And with the People at Work survey being phased out, we’ll cover what to look for (and look out for) when choosing a new psychosocial risk assessment provider. Walk away with a clear picture of your obligations, lessons from the courtroom, and practical tools to strengthen your approach.
