Random Noise: Measuring your company's safety performance
Findings from numerous research studies around the world demonstrates that commonly used safety metrics like Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rates (TRIFR) and Lost Time Injury Rates (LTIFR) are completely subject to and influenced by random variables. This presentation will show how these metrics fail to accurately reflect an organization's true safety performance. To accurately reflect on "safety" within an organisation, a shift towards more qualitative assessments and proactive safety management is required. This presentation will provide tangible guidance to assist with advocating for a more holistic, culture-focused approach to safety measurement.
